7 Nights on Star Pride
Dive, snorkel and swim with fish and sea turtles in Tobago Cays Marine Park, Bonaire National Marine Park and the proposed Speyside Marine Protected Area. Swim in a picture-perfect waterfall pool surrounded by the oldest protected rainforest in the Western Hemisphere, the Main Ridge Forest Reserve. Take in the volcanic beauty of the Pitons on St. Lucia, where rainforest meets some of the healthiest coral reefs in the Caribbean. And discover Bonaire, with its stunning desert-palette motifs like pink flamingos on white salt pans. Those who are looking for the classic Caribbean will find it in Mayreau — fewer than 300 inhabitants, and just 1.5 square miles, making it a port exclusive to yachts. Insider Tips
* You’ll find some of the best beaches in the Caribbean on Aruba. Aside from the beach resorts, every stretch of sand on the island is open to all, and easily accessible by public transportation.
* Mayreau is about as uncrowded as you can get. But if even that’s too much for you, head to Mopian. Surrounded by reef, the tiny dollop of sand has room for just one thatch umbrella.
* Bonaire’s arid climate contributes to its exceptionally clear waters, a quality that has helped make it the #1-rated dive destination in the Caribbean.
* If you plan to snorkel or dive, bring an underwater camera. Colorful fish like blue tangs and damsel fish are everywhere. And with luck, you may spot a hawksbill, a green turtle, or even a seahorse.
* For a taste of authentic Curaçao cuisine, cross Willemstad’s Queen Emma Bridge (the “Swinging Old Lady”) to Plasa Bieu. The pitched-roof food court offers many island favorites, plus the chance to mingle with hungry locals.
Kralendijk, Samur Sail, Beach & Snorkel
Kralendijk, Samur Sail, Beach & Snorkel
Imagine yourself on a voyage through time when seas were full of sailing ships in an exotic land where ships were not only transportation but also works of art. The Samur is an authentic Siamese Junk, hand carved throughout with legends of fantasy and full of superstition fed by rituals thousands of years old. By Zodiac you will be transferred from the cruise ship pier to the Samur. You will set sail and glide smoothly under red sail to the beach of the uninhabited island of Klein Bonaire. During the sail the Captain will give information about the conditions at the reef (which creatures you will find) and the story about the Siamese Sailing Junk. The crew will hand out snorkel gear (sized fins, mask and snorkel and inflatable snorkel vests). Drinks will be served , fruit juices and sodas. After about 45 minutes you will arrive at Klein Bonaire and will be transported by Zodiac to the beach . There you can snorkel from the beach and also have the opportunity to participate on the guided drift snorkel along the outer edge of Ebo's Reef. The comfortable drift snorkel with the light current back to the beach along the reef edge lasts about 20 minutes. Enjoy the pristine white sandy beach of this uninhabited island. You will be at the beach about 1 hour. On the way back to your waiting yacht the crew of this unique ship will pamper you with rum punch, fruit juice, soft drinks and platters of tropical fruits. Please note : Guests with knee, hip or back problems must be able to board the inflatable Zodiac.
