You will drive past Belfast City Hall - an impressive building with a 300-ft.-long façade of Portland stone. A stop here will allow you to photograph what is perhaps the most noteworthy of the statues here - the marble figure of "Thane," commemorating the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic . Visit the Titanic Belfast, the signature building telling the story of Titanic that contains nine galleries with a variety of interpretative materials and media. Take a ride though the visual gantries where the Titanic was under construction. The adventure begins the moment you walk through the door and into the building's giant atrium surrounded by the four high impact 'hull' shaped sections which house the experience. You will experience a thrilling ride through the re-construction of the shipyards and the Titanic under construction. On leaving the island capital of Stornoway, today's tour will take you across the island to the beautiful west coast and to Callanish. Described as Scotland's Stonehenge , the Callanish Standing Stones date from around 3000 B.C. There are a total of 32 stones in a circular and avenue design. It is thought that the site, one of several in the area, was constructed for astronomical observations. The stones stand like a petrified forest on the flat top of a peninsula which reaches out into East Loch Roag . Visit the excellent visitor center to learn more about the site and venture out among the stones themselves to experience their mysterious atmosphere. Continue around the west coast to the site of Dun Carloway Pictish Broch . Probably built some time in the last century B.C., it would have served as an occasionally defensible residence for an extended family complete with accommodation for animals at ground floor level. It would also have served as a visible statement of power and status in the local area. Rejoin your coach and travel north to Gearrannan Blackhouse Village , a reconstructed settlement of traditional blackhouses where people and animals lived in close proximity. The houses were made using dry stone masonry and have thatched roofs, distinctively weighted down with rocks. Visit the small museum, enjoy a display of a typical crofting activity such as weaving or butter-making (subject to availability) and take in the views at this dramatic site on the wild Atlantic coast.. Complete your circular drive as you head back across moorland to Stornoway. Please note : Access to Dun Carloway is by a relatively steep footpath, but it can be seen from coach. On leaving the island capital of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, today's tour will take you directly south along wonderfully scenic and mountainous roads to the southern Isle of Harris and its capital port town of Tarber t. The narrow road winds around varied landscapes, lochs and between craggy mountains with Lunar feel to it. Continue to Tarbert to see the most famous island crafts. Harris Tweed i s one of the most desirable woolen textiles in the world and is produced in the Outer Hebrides, woven on hand looms in the weavers' own homes. You will visit a small tweed workshop for a demonstration of weaving this beautiful, classic product. After the visit, you will have some free time in Tarbert - the largest village on Harris - to explore and maybe do a spot of island shopping. Leaving Tarbert you will journey towards the heart of West Harris to visit Talla Na Mara, overlooking the golden sands of Niseaboist beach and the Sound of Taransay, the Center boasts one of the most photographed locations in the Outer Hebrides if not Scotland. Owned and managed by the residents of West Harris it houses gallery, artists' studios and craft workshops as well as a restaurant. Please note : Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Departing Stornoway; the capital of the island, you will head west towards the island of Great Bernera . Today you will visit the Iron Age Village of Bostadh located on a beautiful beach on the far west side of Lewis. After a severe storm in the spring of 1992 a series of stone structures were exposed on the beach at Bostadh. Excavations in 1996 revealed a complex of houses beneath the sand. It was then decided to backfill this site in order to preserve these structures. The tops of 2 of the houses can just be seen in the beach area where the ever-changing dune landscape exposes, then re-covers parts of the original structures . The main attraction now is the life-size replica of one of these "jelly baby" houses; so called because of their distinctive shape. Take time to walk around this remarkable reconstruction giving you an insight into the life of the inhabitants of this ancient community. Please note : Walking to the beach and the reconstructed house is along paths in the sand dunes and over a small wooden bridge, not recommended for those with mobility issues..
