A masterpiece of Italian Baroque, Caserta was revolutionary for its time. The palace and its vast gardens span 11 acres, featuring pools, fountains, and cascading waterfalls that are perfectly aligned to create a stunning 'telescope effect,' stretching endlessly into the horizon. Naples, Herculaneum
Naples, Herculaneum
Board your coach for a scenic 45-minute bus ride to Herculaneum, where you will step back in time to explore this ancient city. Founded around the 4th century BC, Herculaneum mirrored Naples in its geometric layout, featuring east-west "decumano" (main streets) and north-south "cardines" (narrower streets). Unlike Pompeii, which feels as if its 5,000 residents departed just moments before the eruption, Herculaneum exudes a distinct atmosphere. Though smaller, Herculaneum is better preserved because, while Pompeii's wood was destroyed by hot ashes, Herculaneum was enveloped by hot mud that shielded its buildings. This has preserved its marble floors, mosaics, paintings, and carbonized wood. Explore its opulent properties, including the House of the Mosaic, the House of Deer, the Thermae (baths), and the House of Carbonized Furniture. After your guided tour, return to meet the yacht. Please Note: We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes.

Corfu, Mon Repo Palace & Corfu Town *
Corfu, Mon Repo Palace & Corfu Town *
The tour begins with a scenic drive through the heart of town, leading you into Corfu's lush and verdant countryside, a striking contrast to most Greek islands. As you travel, you'll pass groves of olive, orange, and lemon trees, interspersed with tall, elegant cypress trees. Your first stop is the Mon Repos Palace, perched atop Analipsis Hill near the Kanoni area. Built in 1826 by British Commissioner Frederic Adams as a gift to his Corfiot wife, Nina Palatianou, this charming palace combines colonial architectural elements with a picturesque, green setting. Originally a summer residence for British governors, Mon Repos was later gifted to King George I of Greece when the Ionian Islands were united with Greece in 1864. The palace also holds historical significance as the birthplace of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on June 10, 1921. During World War II, it served as the residence of the Italian governor of the Ionian Islands. Over the years, ownership of the palace was disputed between the Greek government and the former royal family of Greece. In 2002, the European Court of Human Rights ruled in favor of the former King Constantine, awarding him compensation for the properties lost after the monarchy was abolished in 1975. Today, Mon Repos is a beautifully restored tourist attraction managed by the Municipality of Corfu, welcoming visitors from around the world. Surrounded by a large park, the palace offers a serene environment, and across from it lie the ruins of ancient Corfu, suggesting that Mon Repos may have been built on the site of the island's original city. The tour continues to Kanoni, where you'll see the old cannon that gives the area its name. From this vantage point, you'll enjoy views of the Vlacherna nunnery and Mouse Island in the distance. On the return journey, you'll take a different route back to town, where you can stroll through the narrow, balconied streets of the old district. The tour concludes with a visit to the beautiful church of St. Spiridon before returning to the quayside. Please note : Wear comfortable walking shoes. This tour is not wheelchair accessible.

Leaving from the port by coach, you will have a 20-minute drive to the mountain bike station in Dassia, where you will select your bike and receive the necessary instructions. In the company of your local guide, your mountainbike adventure will begin with a short and easy uphill climb to the village of Kato (Lower) Korakiana. Once there you will have a short rest at a traditional "kafeneio" coffee shop, before continuing up the narrow village asphalt road to the village of Ano (Upper) Korakiana, one of Corfu's most colorful and traditional villages resting on the foothills of Mount Pantokrator, with excellent views over 'the Land of the Gods,' the inner plains of the island stretching below. Via a narrow paved alley, you will then make your way to the picturesque village of Saint Marcos (Agios Markos), an old Venetian settlement with stone-built houses - most of which have been carefully restored to their original condition by their caring owners - and a Byzantine chapel. At the local 'Panorama' Taverna you will enjoy a light but heartening "meze" after which you will make your way down the hill towards the blue sea and follow the coastal road back to the mountainbike station. From there enjoy a brief drive to the port. Please note: Wear appropriate biking attire and shoes and bring your camera.

Itea, Mythology of Delphi *

Itea, Mythology of Delphi *
In antiquity Delphi was one of the world's most important religious centers. The Sanctuary of Apollo attracted a host of pilgrims who came to consult the oracle. Even now an aura of mystery surrounds the ruins of Delphi,a UNESCO World Heritage Site, exposed on a rocky slope. For sheer grandeur of natural beauty combined with ancient ruins, there is probably no other spot on earth that rivals Delphi. Visit the ancient Sanctuary of Apollo , where the celebrated oracle Pythia dwelt. Her ambiguous prophecies were known and respected all over the ancient world. Visit the Temple of Apollo , the Sacred Way , the amphitheater , the best preserved stadium of Greece, and the Castalian spring , where in ancient days the pilgrims had to wash before they were allowed to consult the oracle. In the Delphi museum, see such treasures as the Omphalos , which marked the center of the world, and the magnificent bronze Charioteer , one of the finest pieces surviving from the 5th century BC. Please note : As this tour involves walking around the Archaeological Site and in Delphi, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
